Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Southborough in respect of our activities and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
Man with Van Southborough provides moving, transport, and related services. Although we are a small business with a relatively straightforward supply chain, we acknowledge that modern slavery can occur in any sector and jurisdiction. This statement sets out the steps we are taking to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery within our operations and among our suppliers.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. This applies to all aspects of our business, including permanent staff, casual workers, contractors, and suppliers involved in vehicle hire, fuel, equipment, storage, and ancillary services.
No form of abusive or exploitative labour practice is acceptable. We do not tolerate child labour, debt bondage, withholding of identity documents, restrictions on freedom of movement, or any form of coercion. Any individual or organisation found to be involved in such practices will face immediate investigation and, where appropriate, termination of the business relationship.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and service partners to align with our values and to uphold the same zero-tolerance stance. As part of our onboarding process, we assess suppliers for ethical practices, including their approach to labour rights, working conditions, and the prevention of modern slavery.
Man with Van Southborough is developing and implementing proportionate supplier audit measures, which may include requesting written confirmations of compliance, reviewing relevant policies, and, where feasible, conducting spot checks or structured reviews. If a supplier is unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate safeguards against modern slavery, we reserve the right to suspend or cease working with them.
We also encourage longer-term suppliers to maintain their own due diligence processes and to cascade similar expectations down their own supply chains, particularly where they engage labour agencies, subcontractors, or manufacturers in higher-risk regions or sectors.
Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key contractors. Training and guidance are provided to help our team recognise potential warning signs, such as indications of forced labour, restricted movement, or individuals who appear controlled by another person.
All workers are encouraged to speak up if they have concerns. We provide clear internal reporting channels so that employees, contractors, and others connected to our business can raise issues confidentially. Reports can be made to management or, where appropriate, through external channels such as law enforcement or relevant authorities.
We will investigate any concerns raised in good faith and will take appropriate action, which may include cooperating with authorities, supporting affected individuals, and reviewing or terminating relationships with any party found to be in breach of our expectations.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man with Van Southborough recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually improving our policies, procedures, and due diligence activities to better identify and mitigate risks as our business and supply chains evolve.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed annually by our management. The review will consider any incidents reported, outcomes of supplier audits, changes in legislation or best practice, and feedback from staff and stakeholders. Where necessary, we will update our approach and communicate any significant changes to our team and relevant partners.
By issuing this statement, Man with Van Southborough reaffirms its commitment to conducting business in a way that respects human rights, promotes fair treatment, and actively contributes to the prevention of modern slavery in all its forms.
